The Lower CT Valley Branch (LCV) of the AAUW was established in 1972 and currently has 95 members.

We are strong supporters of our national AAUW mission to promote education and equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.

We pride ourselves on the commitment of our members to making LCV an active and strong organization which offers engaging programs featuring nationally known authors and speakers, and a wide variety of activities for members to enjoy.

Over the past 10 years, LCV has raised more than $40,000 for college scholarships for local women. Through the generosity of the Alan Spargo Memorial Scholarship Fund, established by one of our members, each year we sponsor CT women undergraduates to attend the annual National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) in Washington, D.C.

Students have stated the NCCWSL was one of the most helpful and meaningful conferences they have ever attended.
